NewsPage 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 May 25, 2010, 12:07 pm For the second consecutive year, the Petcetera Bull Dogs fell short in the Challenge Cup A finals. The team played a very competitive level and showed well against some of the best teams at the tournament. The Bull Dog stayed close but could not overcome after trailing 2-0 to the Kootenay Avalanche. The Bull Dogs pressed late with a two man advantage via a penalty and pulling their goaltender but a empty net goal secured the 3-0 victory for the Avalanche team. The Bull Dogs finished the tournament with 19 goals for and 11 goals against plus one empty netter. The outcome was an average 3.17 goals per average game and a 1.83 goals against. Special thanks to all players for their contribution in the one tournament season and very special thanks to Jim Dinwoodie, Mitch Pinsky and Paul Houck for supporting the team on the bench throughout the tournament. May 23, 2010, 7:33 pm The Petcetera Bull Dogs split their games on May 23rd and have advanced to the "A" Finals of Challenge Cup against the Kootenay Avalanche. The Bull Dogs lost the morning game to POE 4-1 and rebounded to beat the Can Lan Lions 2-1 in the afternoon Semi Final game. A win in the "A" Finals will allow the Bull Dogs to achieve a 5th place finish out of the 16 team pool. The Bull Dogs have a 3-2 record with 19 (3.75) goals for and 9 (1.80) goals against in the 5 games played. May 22, 2010, 10:34 pm The Petcetera Bull Dogs advanced to the quarter finals of Challenge Cup with a 5-0 victory over the Capitals team. The Bull Dogs will face Pursuit of Excellence, with the winner advancing to the Semi Finals. The team was supported with goals against the Capitals from Riley Alfred, Jackson Houck, Craig Cross, Austin Ferguson and Evan Anderson. Two point contributions came from Houck, Anderson, Ferguson and Adam Rockwood. Daniel Urbani recorded his second straight shutout in the victory. May 22, 2010, 11:23 am The Petcetera Bull Dogs have started the 2010 Challenge Cup with a win over the Alberta Bisons and a hard battle loss to the Mainland Aces. The Bull Dogs have scored 11 and have given up 4 goals. Eleven of the players have contributed to scoring and Brad King leads all players with 4 points. Two goal contributions have come from King, Evan Anderson, Austin Ferguson and Jarid Lukosevicius. The Bull Dogs play the Capitals later this evening and a win will capture 2nd place and a match up against the Division 1 Pool D winner. Apr 19, 2010, 2:48 pm The Petcetera Bull Dogs have announced the coaching team for the 2010 Challenge Cup. Jim Dinwoodie and Mitch Pinsky have accepted the challenge of winning a second Challenge Cup Championship. The Bull Dogs were last Champions in 2008. Dinwoodie and Pinsky coached the BC Bantam Tier 1 Champions North Shore Winter Club A1 team in the 2009/2010 fall season. The Bull Dogs 2010 final roster will be announced over the next few weeks. Nov 26, 2009, 1:54 pm The Petcetera Bull Dogs have announced plans to particpate in the 2010 Challenge Cup in Burnaby. The event will take place from May 21 - 24. The Bull Dogs will be announcing the new coaching team and roster within the next 2 months. Existing players will be contacted prior to end of December to communicate the 2010 Spring plan. |
